Earthbound

Hawaiian warriors built their war canoes from Koa timber because nothing else held the same weight - literally and otherwise. Māori craftsmen set paua shell into their most significant work because they understood that iridescence was a kind of truth - identity that shifts with the light, never fixed, never finished. Celtic Highland chiefs carried deer antler as evidence of something earned, not inherited. Polynesian navigators read the grain of driftwood to understand where the current had been. For these men, natural material wasn't decorative. It was documentary.

There is something a natural inlay does that no metal finish can replicate. Wood grain that grew over decades before it ended up on your finger. Paua shell that spent years on a New Zealand coastline before it found its way into a ring. Deer antler that carried the weight of something wild. These materials have already lived a life before they became part of yours. That history doesn't disappear when they're set into tungsten. It just becomes yours to carry forward.
